Update on the 2026 Season

Thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we work together to address the future of the pool.

Despite months of tireless advocacy, careful negotiation, and the generous contributions from our community, we have not yet reached an agreement with the property owner. We also learned this week that the best-case schedule would only give us a short season with a ‘potential’ opening date in late June. 

Therefore, after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to open for the 2026 pool season.

We understand many families are planning their summers, and with the risk of further delays, moving forward this season is not realistic. We share your disappointment, as this is not the outcome any of us wanted.

Our focus is now on securing Woodley Pool for 2027 and beyond, ensuring our community has a gathering place for years to come and upholding our long-term vision of Woodley Pool as a cherished community asset.

We will hold a community meeting in early spring to provide updates, answer questions, and gather your feedback.

Thank you to those who have already offered to help. The future of Woodley Gardens Pool depends on the continued involvement and support of our entire community.

Important notes as we move forward:

• Fundraising will continue, as rebuilding and securing the pool’s future are long-term projects.

• If you donated with the expectation of opening this season, you will receive information about refunds. In the coming years, a new pool house will need to be built, and the pool itself will need to be replaced. Please consider supporting these efforts and watch for more information on how to get involved.

• The swim team will share their plans for the upcoming season separately. The season will only be possible if our swimmers return. We all want to see the Waves back at Woodley, and your continued participation and enthusiasm will help make that possible.
